Synthesis is the art of blending components or elements into a cohesive whole.

Through the eco-printing process, I merged turmeric, soil, gum leaves, native flowers, and leaves from the lands I have settled on to create a comprehensive portrait of myself.

This artwork was created for the Future Lens program, generously funded by Creative Brimbank. The initiative was a collaboration between the Neighbourhood House Unit and the Arts and Culture Unit at Brimbank City Council, supported by Creative Victoria through the VicArts Grants program.

Displayed in an online exhibition during the Melbourne lockdowns of 2020, Future Lens showcased original photographic works and recorded stories by young female creatives of color. My piece was part of a group show that eloquently depicted the personal journeys of these artists, their families, and their communities. The exhibition celebrated the strength, knowledge, and empowerment of Black, Brown, and Indigenous women through compelling and original artworks.
