Fleeting Landscapes

Fleeting Landscapes is an exhibition that considers the body's connection to the earth. A dialogue between the landscape and the female body. It is about connecting to the womb (nature) and re-establishing bonds with the material source. The exhibition contains an ecological sensibility that emphasizes the reciprocity between body and land as well as resistance towards colonialist ideas of land and territory.

More specifically, this work pays tribute to the women in my life. Who like the soil under my feet have shaped and nurtured me into the woman and artist I have become and am becoming.

The work created for this series was for my first solo exhibition @ Sunshine Art Spaces. I grew up playing and making art in the streets of Sunshine so the location and execution of this work couldn't be more dear to my heart.
