In my little corner of the world anyone would love you
In My Little Corner of the World, Anyone Would Love You is a series that honours loved ones through rich, living tapestries. Drawing inspiration from the bold floral motifs of Indian miniature portraits, specifically from the Rajput courts of Rajasthan and the Punjab Hills between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, the work also pays homage to their collaborative creation process in which multiple artists came together to paint figures and backgrounds. Embracing this spirit, the making of the series unfolds as a deeply collaborative act, releasing individual ego for the greater good of the community. These works weave together beauty and ritual, inspired by teachings from the Kama Sutra on adorning the body with flowers, transforming each portrait into a devotional act that highlights the subject’s spirit and spirituality. Reflecting on the expansive power of love, each portrait is accompanied by a love letter offering gratitude and connection to every individual portrayed.
